About Me
Hi, I’m Laurie! Cats have been part of my life since I was a teenager showing Maine Coons with my parents. That love grew through my work at a Rochester animal hospital and 10 wonderful years caring for cats alongside Cheryl at Cheryl’s Kitty B&B.
Those experiences taught me to approach every cat with patience, empathy, and compassion—and to appreciate each one as an individual with their own personality and needs.
At Laurie’s Cat Nook, I take time to learn your cat’s routines and favorite comforts, offering personalized care to help them feel at home. My goal is simple: to help your cat feel safe, comfortable, and loved—and give you peace of mind while you’re away.
How I Work
Getting to know you and your cat is the first step in making their stay feel like home. By learning about their personality, daily routines, and favorite comforts—and listening to your questions and concerns—I can offer thoughtful, personalized care that helps you both feel at ease.
Step One: Meet & Greet
Every cat is unique, and I believe their boarding experience should be just as individual. Before confirming a stay, I like to speak with you about your cat so I can get to know them a little better.
Step Two: Customized Care
We’ll talk about their age, personality, medical history, daily routine, and any special needs or preferences. This helps me understand what will make your cat feel most comfortable and allows me to recommend the space that will be the best fit for their stay.
Step Three: Peace of Mind
Receive regular updates and photos so you always know your cat is happy.

A Calm Home Like Stay
A home-based boarding experience can be much more peaceful and relaxing than a traditional, noisy kennel. Your cat can settle into a quiet bedroom or stretch out comfortably in a spacious luxury condo, depending on what makes them feel most at ease.
Each guest receives one-on-one attention, affection, and care tailored to their individual personality and preferences. My goal is to create a calm, comfortable environment where every cat can feel safe, relaxed, and right at home.
Medication Administration
Your cat’s safety is always my top priority. Because of past experiences with serious bites while administering medication by hand, I do not administer medications directly by mouth or through forceful handling.
I am happy to administer certain non-life-threatening medications when they can be safely and reliably hidden in food or treats. Please discuss your cat’s medication needs with me in advance so we can determine whether I’m able to accommodate them safely and comfortably.
Personalized Care
Your cat is never just one of many. I intentionally keep my boarding limited, so each guest receives the individual time, attention, affection, and care they deserve. With fewer guests, I’m able to truly get to know each cat and provide a more personal, relaxed experience tailored to their unique personality and needs.

Laurie’s Cat Nook is fully insured through Travelers and bonded through Liberty Mutual, giving you added peace of mind while your cat enjoys a cozy stay and personal, compassionate care.
